Frequently asked questions
Here you can find the answers to the most frequently asked questions about our grooms, products used and everything else!

If you have a question which has not yet been answered, please contact us!
What age dogs do you groom?
At Hydro Hounds we accommodate all ages of dogs from 12 week old puppies to our OADs (older aged doggies!) All we ask is that your dog has had their first vaccination prior to visiting, as we are a one to one service and the van is disinfected after every groom.
Where are you based?
Being a mobile grooming unit on wheels we can travel to your very own driveway! Currently we are focusing on the Vale of Belvoir area, including (but not limited to!) Bingham, Langar, Harby, Stathern, Cropwell Bishop, Cropwell Butler, Barnstone, Plungar, Car Colston, Orston, Aslockton, Long Clawson etc. If you don't see your area listed please contact us and we will see what we can do to accomodate!
What is a hydrobath?
Short answer: a fab bit of kit!
Longer answer: a complete unit combining a bath tub and a power bather which mixes warm water and shampoo to work through the thickest of coats and to gently massage your dog's skin. It even uses less water than an average bath!
How often should my dog be groomed?
This varies between dog to dog, and we are more than happy to work with you and your pampered pooch to organise a personal grooming schedule to ensure they stay in good condition and look the best at all times!
Can you groom my pregnant dog?
Sorry but no, as our insurance will not cover us for pregnant bitches. We would recommend investing in a good brush so that you can maintain your girl's coat at home yourself in the mean time and we would love to see her (and the pups) at a later date!
What products do you use?
Only the best! Our shampoos are from Peanut & Pickle and The Pawdinary. All dogs should be bathed in specially formulated products not human shampoo, which is why the products we use are all plant based, expertly formulated, cruelty free and sustainable.
I have multiple dogs, can they come together?
As we come to you, we are happy to do back to back grooms, however we request that there is only one dog in the van at a time, as we pride ourselves on giving a one to one service. This also means that your dog gets the full pamper experience and our undivided attention throughout their groom!
